Holly is looking human :)

Finally, Holly has a head! :D I feel like I've been making good progress... but what will happen when the Olympics are over and I'm not plunked on the couch for three hours a night? I know I'll be back to my computer addict ways!

Here she is!

And I'm finally putting together a Stash List on here so I can show it to my girlfriend whenever she wants to buy more stuff. We don't need any more stuff, ever.

Of course, we still WANT more stuff...

she's got legs!

Not me, the Holly pixie. XD

Her entire bottom half is complete except for beads, the pretty braid, and the white spots on the berries. I just hate the idea of running a white thread all around the back to fill in ONE square on each berry...

I'm also going to participate in a round robin with a few ladies from The Worldwide Round Robins board, so I scanned my UFO project to show everyone. It's Teresa Wentzler's Angel Procession, and yeah, it's not even close to done. :p

I need to remove the skin (sounds scary, doesn't it?) because I want to redo it over one... which means the backstitching has to come out too. Bah! Plus the entire thing is kind of dirty, so it needs a wash before I send it out. Well, I have almost a month to get it into shape and find all the threads...

Holly update & TUSAL!

A little placeholder so I don't forget to post a photo of my TUSAL jar (okay, glass) tonight! Thanks to Yoyo for the reminder. :)

Been glued to the TV watching the Olympics since Saturday, which has been really good for stitching. Like, REALLY good. Two more pictures of Holly, one taken at about noon on Saturday, and one right before bed on Sunday. Crazy progress, and there's a lot more done now too!

And finally, my first TUSAL photo! :)

Ah, yes, the infamous pessimist's mug. *grin* Most of this is stuff from my Holly Pixie, but my girlfriend is working on Sweet Pea and has slipped some of her orts into my mug too. Hopefully that's not cheating. :)

Golden Thought & Holly

More weekend progress. Did quite a bit of Golden Thought, but it was promptly pushed aside when my sparkly pink fabric for the Mirabilia Holly Pixie got here! It's coming along pretty well, considering that I never stick with a new project for more than a day. But then, that was the me of over ten years ago. Maybe things are different now. I certainly hope so... I really want to finish this one!

Two small notes on the pixie:

- There's a missing stitch in the rightmost berry on her backside. :p I filled it in with one of the dark reds to match the photo on the pattern.
- The triangle symbol is supposed to be 500, but it looks almost identical to the darker green in her dress. I made it a blend of 500/501 and it's much better.

I wonder if my sudden interest in stitching is because of all my mom's stuff that's sitting in the closet. I know it's not because stitching makes me think of her - she never liked to DO it, just enjoyed collecting, buying, selling, and trading.

progress - Golden Thought

I've really been into cross-stitch lately... even put together a large bag of unfinished projects. Every time I finish something from the bag, I go back to grab something "new" from it.

I've been working on this little leaf pattern called Golden Thought for a few days now. I wish I had a scan of what it looked like before I picked it up again so I could see how much progress there's been! I'd say about 75% of what you see here is new within the last week.

You know... I'm not sure if the comments are working. When I click on comments, I don't see a form or anything. *sigh* Ha, I fixed it! Score: Rahenna 1, template 0. :p

first post!

Well, here we go, my first post here in my crafty blog. I decided to start one here because there's a lot of other crafters on here, and it will be a lot easier to find people who share my interests. ^^b

So, I'm mainly interested in cross-stitch and beadweaving. But not at the same time. :p I inherited my mom's stash - and it was a LOT of stash because she was really a collector, not a stitcher - and somehow it sparked my interest in cross-stitch.

Here's my two recent sorta-finishes. First is a Christmas tree ornament from the Dimensions Creative Accents series. Just needs finishing to be turned into an ornament! Second is Poinsettia Biscornu by Kitty & Me, from one of the more recent JCS ornament issues. I'm still trying to decide what I want to do for the back... repeat the entire design? Part of it? None of it? It'll be my first biscornu so I don't want to mess it up. Hmm...
